With all 3 of my children currently enrolled in 4-H, it's safe to say we are definitely a 4-H family. It's a great organization to get kids involved in their community in a number of ways.
Each year 4 Louisiana 4-Hers are selected to represent their state and travel to the nation's capital in the Spring for the opportunity to share their perspectives with federal agencies on issues they are passionate about in their communities. We are happy to announce that one local member from Acadia Parish 4-H has been selected as one of the National Delegates that will be representing Louisiana at the National 4-H Conference!
Congratulations Luke Mire!

The National 4-H Conference is the pinnacle experience in 4-H civic engagement. Members are given the opportunity to connect with others and develop ideas to lead change that impacts communities across our nation and our world.
The Selection Process
Candidates must be in grades 10th or 11th, between the ages of 15 and 19 and active members in their local chapters to qualify. They must then go through the application process and interview to be considered for selection.
Selected 4-H members are expected to have a strong understanding of 4-H values, Louisiana, along with a commitment to the implementation of innovative 4-H programs. In addition to this incredible opportunity, delegates may be recruited to assist the Louisiana 4-H Executive Board and/or the State 4-H Citizenship Board in planning and developing leadership opportunities.
