Annual Sweet Dough Pie Festival

Come and celebrate the unique culture and history of Grand Coteau at the Annual Sweet Dough Pie Festival on Saturday October 26th, 2024. This event will take place from 9am to 5pm on the grounds of the Grand Coteau Town Park behind Town Hall, 231 Burleigh Lane, Grand Coteau.

The festival includes sweet dough pie vendors, food provided by area food trucks, arts & crafts, music all day long and of course the sweet dough pie contest – the public is the judge!

All interested sweet dough pie makers are encouraged to enter by contacting 337.331.6352.

A large variety of sweet dough pies will be available for purchase including but not limited to: sweet potato, fig, custard, lemon, and blackberry. Shaded tables and chairs will be available to relax and enjoy the food and music. Please, no alcohol and no pets.

Music will be provided throughout the day by: Sheryl Cormier & the Cajun Sounds, Patrick Henry & the LB Band and Geno Delafose & the French Rockin’ Boogie.

Come enjoy the unique culture of Grand Coteau. Enjoy the festival and take a self-guided tour, passing by: St. Ignatius School, the St. Peter Claver complex, the Schools of the Sacred Heart, St. Charles Borromeo Church, and cemetery. This picturesque cemetery, with ancient Live Oaks and Spanish Moss, is the final resting place of the first African American Mayor for the State of Louisiana since Reconstruction, the woman the St. Charles church bell was named after, historical gravesites of our war veterans, and many renowned Jesuit priests
