Hey MacaroniKID Families,
There is so much anticipation and excitement this month brings as the school year comes to an end and the summer break is drawing near for many; however May is also a month that we acknowledge a very important observance- National Foster Care Month. This month, we are happy to support CASA of St. Landry-Evangeline with their upcoming CASA Kids Banquet on May 23rd at the Opelousas Civic Center benefitting children in foster care.
We will be donating two gift baskets to be auctioned off during this event. If you are a local business owner and would like to contribute to our gift baskets please contact us and we would be happy to collaborate with you for this project.
As a CASA Care Club member, MacaroniKID Acadia-St. Landry is happy to support the local nonprofit organization CASA of St. Landry-Evangeline which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates.
Child Advocates: A Powerful Force in the Foster Care System
Every child deserves a voice, a champion who will stand up for their rights and well-being. Unfortunately, for children in the foster care system, navigating the complexities of legal proceedings, social services, and daily challenges can be overwhelming. This is where Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) step in, offering support and care to some of the most vulnerable members of our society.
CASA recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who serve as advocates for children involved in the foster care system. These dedicated volunteers, play a crucial role in ensuring that children's voices are heard and their best interests are prioritized. CASA of St. Landry-Evangeline, Inc. is a shining example of an organization committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children in need.
The organization's commitment to providing a voice for children in need has resulted in countless success stories of children finding safe, permanent homes and achieving positive outcomes. Through their advocacy and support, CASA of St. Landry-Evangeline has made a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families in the region.
