The event features outdoor performances from school bands, choirs, and performance classes, art exhibitions in businesses and outdoors, hands-on art activities for families, and a student artist market where you can purchase original artwork and crafts directly from the artist.

Wondering how to join in the fun? One way is to shop the Student Artist Market featuring a variety of student made goods! Browse everything from handmade jewelry to paintings and prints.

The event brings over 2,000 individuals to downtown Opelousas and showcases artwork and performances by more than 550 students from pre-K to 12th grade.

Student Arts Expo features many day-long street activities, including Art in Action live painting demonstrations, hands-on art Activities for All, and the Student Artist Market.

We were so warmly received last year for the first expo in St. Landry Parish, and we are thrilled to return for a second year of this festival of art. It was inspiring to see the community come together to celebrate the creativity and hard work of their students. We expect this year to be even better!” said AcA Executive Director Samuel Oliver.

Student Arts Expo in Opelousas is a partnership between Acadiana Center for the Arts and St Landry Parish School Board with support from Opelousas Main Street, Opelousas Downtown Development District and St. Landry Parish Tourism.
