Meander Mindset: Bayou Teche Project

Visit the St. Landry Parish Visitor Center to see the newest exhibit

A new exhibit is now on display at the St. Landry Parish Visitor Center in partnership with Acadiana Center for the Arts' Art Spark grant!

Meander Mindset: Bayou Teche is a project between visual artists Kristie Cornell and Marla Kristicevich as they strive to create a conversation between people and the environment through the exploration of waterways. Together they meandered the Teche collecting organic samples, and making photographs, textural rubbings, audio recordings, and eco sculptures along the waterway.

These collected materials and works create a visual narrative of the artists’ findings and encourage the viewer to reevaluate their connection to the natural world and to take the time to observe and appreciate their surroundings.

The project is now on display throughout the month of February.

On Saturday, February 25th the public will have the chance to meet Kristie Cornell and Marla Kristicevich at the visitor center for the artist reception and book release party beginning at 1pm. This is a free event.
