Digital Library Resources for Acadia and St. Landry

Get more from your local library with Libby App

By Courtney J, Macaroni KID Acadia-St. Landry publisher January 20, 2022

I was aware there was a digital database for the Bayouland Co-Op but never utilized it until just recently. Of course, we love visiting our favorite library branches in both Acadia and St. Landry parishes but this digital resource using their e-library was a huge game-changer for us!

Libby is a free app available for Bayouland Overdrive's e-library which is replacing the previous-existing Overdrive app our local library branch was using. Libby can be downloaded in the App Store and on Google Play. You can check out and borrow e-books, audiobooks, and more right onto your device. All you need is a library card from one of the member libraries and have a 4-digit PIN number which is set up by the library. So if you already have a library card just contact the library and ask them to set up a PIN for your account.

Cool Features

Bayouland Overdrive is an e-library for local members. In addition to offering thousands of titles and genres for users they also have unique features that give more options for unique readers.

  • Special font option for dyslexic readers makes reading easier.
  • Read/listen to books anywhere on any Kindle device
  • Access books even when your local library is closed without having to leave home
